GuacamoleBlog Editorial Team

Every article on GuacamoleBlog is published under one byline: GuacamoleBlog Editorial Team. This page explains what that byline means, who stands behind it, and how to reach us when something is wrong.

What the byline means

Our articles are the product of a process, not a single writer. Research is organized and drafts are produced with the help of AI tools. Statutes are read, figures are checked against the controlling law, and every draft is reviewed and edited by a human editor before it goes live. The team byline reflects that: the work is collective, and the responsibility for it is not.

We do not attach individual names to articles. We do not list credentials, bar numbers, or specialties for anyone on this site. GuacamoleBlog is not a law firm and nothing here is legal advice.

Responsible editor

Miguel Gutierrez is the responsible editor for GuacamoleBlog. That means two things in practice:

He is not a lawyer and does not offer legal advice. His role is editorial: making sure what we publish says what the law says, cites where it says it, and is honest about what it does not cover.

How the work gets done

  1. Primary sources. Legal claims are verified against state legislature websites, the U.S. Code, and official agency publications. Other websites are not used as legal sources.
  2. AI-assisted drafting, human review. AI tools help organize research and produce initial drafts. A human editor reviews and edits every article before publication and verifies cited statutes and state-specific rules against the source.
  3. One rule, one source. Where a figure varies by state, we state the rule and the condition that triggers it, with a citation. We do not present a conditional outcome as automatic.
  4. Dated. Every article shows its publication date and, when it has been revised, its last update. Where a statutory rule has been independently verified, the verification date is shown with it.

The full process is in our Editorial Guidelines.

Corrections

If something we have published is legally inaccurate, we want to know. Factual corrections are our highest priority and are handled ahead of any other editorial work.
